What is the i3Network?
It started with a conversation in April 2007 where three individuals from three regions of the world discussed the state of international promotion, support for entrepreneurs and emerging, small businesses, and a need to do something different. After a two year pilot project involving 28 companies, three countries, and six missions the i3Network was launched in July 2009 as an established and growing global network that serves as a tool for development and growth in international trade.
The i3Network has two main beneficiaries:
• Entrepreneurs and SMEs with high growth potential who want to trade internationally
• Organizations with existing programs that support entrepreneurs and SMEs as well as conduct
economic development activities; which are formed into affiliated regional “Hubs”
The International Reciprocal Soft Landings Network, operating under the brand name of i3Network is a membership organization formed for the specific purpose of promoting and supporting international trade activities and collaboration. The i3Network supports early-stage, small or medium sized companies (SMEs) in the knowledge economy, and those with the potential to achieve high growth.
The i3Network is a project-based tool; organized, co-coordinated by its member Hubs. In applying for membership, new Hubs agree to abide by a set of objectives and principles focused on supporting entrepreneurs and companies as they pursue business opportunities in non-domestic markets. Membership is granted after submission of an application, review and approval by a Management Committee, and payment of modest annual dues. Membership is not limited or restricted in any way, and members are free to terminate their membership at any time. The network is based on action and support of entrepreneurs and SMEs, so each Hub must show a level of activity that is measured and used annually to maintain membership status. Measuring activities is just one of the things that make the i3Network different.
