The Network

During the pilot phase of the i3Network, three proto-hubs were formed in Virginia (USA), Kent (England), and Larne (N.Ireland), which serve as the core of the network.  Since officially launching i3Network in July 2009, additional hubs formed mainly in Europe. Organizations in over 33 countries have to date expressed interest in forming hubs and joining the i3Network.  The i3Network will work with these organizations as they investigate formation of hubs with a goal of having at least two to three hubs on each continent.

Our goals for expanding the network include:

•  10-15 Hubs total by the end of 2010
•  15-20 Hubs total by the end of 2011
•  20-30 Hubs total by the end of 2012

However, expansion of the i3Network must be managed and controlled in order that the quality of the network, value to our enterprises and hub consortia members, and effectiveness of the activities and resources offered through the i3Network are maintained and ensured.  We will always put high quality and effectiveness above growth and numbers as the network spreads globally.
